1. Program History:

  Hope Education Foundation (HEF) has organized 29 days
Learning Chinese in China program five years. In year 2002, there
are five groups, total more than 100 students. In 2004, there are 13 groups
total more than 200 students.

2. Program days:

  Program total 29 days, include 3 weeks learning Chinese in Beijing, one week exchange and tour in Xian, Luoyang, Shaolin, Zhengzhou, Suzhou & Shanghai.

3. Departure Date:

  In the summer of every year, three departure dates will be reserved: the second and last Friday of June, and the third Friday of July. If your party has more than 10 participants, you will qualify to select a preferred departure date.

4. Class Levels:

  We guarantee to divide the classes into 4 class levels for each
departing group. The levels are: beginners, lower mediate, higher
mediate, and advanced. Students are placed into the class according to their individual testing ability and will be tested after arriving in Beijing .

5. Accommodation:

  Students will be accommodated in the dormitory from various high schools based on double occupancy. Each room has airconditioning, telephone, and bathroom. During sightseeing trips in other cities, the accommodations will be in a four-star hotel or the best available hotel in the area.

6. Curriculum:

   This program includes 80 hours of English and Chinese lectures in the lassroom and more than 100 hours of Chinese language conversation. This approach to study Chinese in 29 days is equivalent to a one-year study course in US classroom. The lectures include listening, speaking, reading, handwriting, and communication practices. Additionally, students learn how to use the Chinese dictionary. By understanding the Chinese language, students will increase their perception and understanding of the history and culture of China .
   The program provides an environment for cultural exchange and friendship buildup between American and Chinese students.
Some activities include: pick and pack fruits in the orchard, learn how
to make dumplings, Hu-Tong sightseeing attraction, and shop in the
famous Xiushui , Hong-Qiao and antique markets.

7. Special Culture of Meals:

   Fangshan emperor meal, Peking roast duck, Beijing flavor Za Jiang noodle; Dumpling banquet, Luoyang water banquet and Cheng Huang
Temple flavor.

8. Visit Cities:

   Beijing , Shanghai , Luoyang , Zhengzhou , Shaolin Temple in Henan Province , and the ancient city of Xian .
Also in the program, students will visit the Great Wall of China ,
Forbidden City , Temple of Heaven , Summer Palace , Yu Garden, Jude
Buddha Temple , Chenghuang Temple , Yellow River Museum and the
Yellow River tourist zone. Pudong Economic Zone, Song Dynasty
Tomb, White-Horse Temple , Longmen Grottoes, Qing-Ming Garden ;
Terra Cotta Warriors, Dayan (Big Wild Goose) Pagoda, Ancient City
Wall.

9. Application Requirements:

   Age ¨C over 12. Please contact us if age is under 12, parents will
need to accompany applicants whose age are under 12.

10. Price:

   $2388/pp plus airfare ticket
   Single supplements add $450

Price includes:

   Tuition, books and material fees, all the cultural excursions, accommodation, meals, sightseeing attraction, transportation fee, 300,000 RMB travel accident insurance, tips for luggage-handling, tour guides, drivers, airfare and soft bed of train fare in China , and airport construction fee.

Price does not include:

   International airfare and tax, visa processing fee, personal expenses and telecommunication fee.

Early Bird Discount:

   Before 90 days of the departure date, for every early one month you register, $20 dollars will be discounted accumulatively.

11. Visa:

   Traveling to China requires the proper documents, one of which is the visa, which can be obtained form any Consulate of the People's Republic of China within the United States . However, for your convenience, HEF will obtain the required visa for your trip to China . Application forms will be provided by HEF upon request. The charges for the visa processing are as follows:

Group Visa:

   For entry and departure from China with the tour group, your passport is required. The original passport and photo are not required for a visa application, which should be obtained from HEF. Group Visa charge--$60 per person. At lease 5 people with one group.

Individual Visa:

   For entry and departure from China as an individual tourist, your passport, two photos, and application form are required. Individual visa charge --$75 per person plus shipping fee. Seven days processing is required. If you possess a passport other than from the U.S. passport, please consult HEF for the processing fee.
Note:
The passport has to be at least 6 months validity from departure date.

12. Safety:

   Safety issues are Hope Education Foundation's No. 1 concern. HEF pays the most attention to safety whenever and wherever the program is taking place.

   ¡ñ Meals

   All restaurants are certified to serve foreign visitors.

   ¡ñ Drinking Water

   Drinking water meets the standard of the Chinese government for water quality.

   ¡ñ Group Policy

   A group of at least two participants or an adult accompany is recommended for personal activities.

   ¡ñ Transportation

   Our professional staffs will guide all participants to get in and off buses as well as to cross the street safely in order to assure the maximum comfort and safety of the participants.

   ¡ñ Accommodation

   Hotel accommodations will be based on two same gender participants per room.

   ¡ñ Medication

   Prescribed medication is permitted when entering China . It is best to carry the medication in labeled containers.

   ¡ñ Safety Issues

   All the participants should follow provided safety instructions and is responsible for their personal behavior. Matches, lighters, and cigarettes for smoking, and fighting are not allowed during the trip. Only normal use of electronics is allowed.

   ¡ñ Emergency

   Our professional staffs in each city are well trained to follow procedures set in place to meet any urgent needs. If participants get sick, they will have medical attention right away, and the staff will contact their families or friends immediately. If it is necessary, the ill participant will be transported to a hospital. The hospitals have special departments where English is spoken.

13. Deposit:

   To ensure your reservations are processed and confirmed, a deposit of $300 is due upon registration. The check or money order is to be made payable to HEF. A $35 fee will be charged for any returned checks.

14. Balance and Cancellation:

   The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to departure. Delay of the payment of the remaining balance will result in cancellation of your reservations.

Cancellation:

   The following will be charged or refunded accordingly when you cancel your tour reservation:

   1. If cancellation occurs more than Sixty (60) days prior to departure, $100 per person will be assessed and will not be refunded to cover the expense of arrangements made for the tour on behalf of the individual's).

   2. If cancellation occurs from Sixty (60) days to fifteen (15) days prior to departure, $300 per person will be assessed and deposit will not be refunded.
In addition to the above stated cancellation charges, if airline tickets have already been issued at the time of cancellation (regardless of number of days prior to departure), the traveler will be assessed an additional airline cancellation penalty and service charge pursuant to the airlines rules and regulations.

   3. If cancellation occurs from fifteen(15) days to seven(7) days prior to departure. $950 will be the maximum cancellation fee assessed per person. Visa process fee is not refundable.

   4. If cancellation occurs within seven (7) days of departure, there will be no refund.

   5. Written notice of cancellation must be received by HEF either by mail, fax or e-mail. Oral cancellation by phone will not be accepted.

15. Special Requirement of Routing

   If students or parents plan to fly routing different of group, please contact our staff.
