MADRID, Spain -- With only two weeks to go before the Champions League
final, Real Madrid says centre back Pepe has injured his left leg.
Madrid says the 31-year-old Pepe was hurt in Wednesdays 1-1 draw at
Valladolid, but did not reveal how long the Portugal international would
be sidelined.
Madrid will be playing for a 10th European Cup title when it faces city
rival Atletico Madrid in Lisbon on May 24.
Pepe is likely to miss Sundays Spanish league match at Celta Vigo.
Madrid is four points behind Atletico with two games to play.
Pepes injury puts pressure on Madrids defence with Raphael Varanes
availability uncertain because of a knee problem.
